Powerbrace Corporation
Offers More Options with "Top End Loose" Lockrods
Powerbrace
Corporation, a leader in door securement hardware for swing door
applications, has coined the phrase “top end loose” to
explain a lockrod purchase option that eliminates the need to fabricate
lockrods in the field or repair shop from component parts.
When ordering top end loose lockrods, they come factory-assembled
with the top cam unattached, so that the length can be cut and precisely
fit in the field or repair shop. The technician simply cuts the tube
to length and welds on the top cam for a perfect fit.
The top end loose option allows field technicians and repair facilities
the option of stocking a select few lockrods at a universal length
rather than an inventory of custom length lockrods, reducing inventories
while maintaining consistent quality.
With top end loose lockrods, the pre-assembled bottom cam and handle
assembly are factory timed during manufacturing insuring a proper fit
and mounting accuracy.
Now, technicians can choose the speed, convenience and accuracy of
the top end loose program or they have the option of purchasing conventional
assembly kits containing all components necessary to complete a lockrod
and purchasing Powerbrace 55,000 psi custom tubing to complete the
lockrod assemble process.
Powerbrace Corporation manufactures products for the truck-trailer,
intermodal, specialty and truck body market segments. Powerbrace Corporation
has been a leading manufacturer of door securement systems for trailer
builders for over 30 years.

New Powerbrace 3/4-Inch Aluminum Lockrod Offers
Performance and High End Appearance
High-end horse, utility and stock trailers, as well as truck body
applications often require lighter, and more cosmetically appealing
lockrods to secure their side and rear swing doors, yet without sacrificing
strength and durability when hauling a load.
Powerbrace Corporation
offers the perfect solution with its new NH-NH ¾-inch
aluminum, zero-torque lockrod. Its standard option has a brushed aluminum
look, but it is also available in an optional electropolished finish
which gives the look of polished stainless at a fraction of the cost.
With a zero-torque lockrod, the more pressure applied to doors from
the inside, such as shifting cargo weight, the tighter the cams and
keepers engage, providing 100% positive anti-rack control in every
direction.
The ¾-inch aluminum NH-NH lockrods can be ordered
three ways:
1. Custom Manufactured – Factory-assembled lockrod
built to your exact length specifications with both cams and riveted
handle assembly factory-welded. Just add mounting hardware.
2. Top End
Loose™ – A manufactured lockrod with bottom
cam and riveted handle assembly factory welded in place. Simply cut
tube to desired length, weld on top cam and mount with hardware kit.
3.
Assembly Kit and Tubing – Lockrod assembly kits include all
the components needed to build one lockrod (Tubing sold separately).
The
NH (narrow header) bolt-on keeper is a perfect match for mounting ¾ -
inch lockrods on narrow sills and headers, common in smaller trailers.
All ¾ - inch NH-NH components are 6061, T6 grade aluminum, insuring
strong welds and eliminating the porosity commonly occurring during
the welding of dissimilar aluminum components.
Cams are forged aluminum. They provide superior strength, unlike commonly
used cast cams, which are prone to breaking and cracking.
Snap-in Delrin (Acetal) bearings, mounted inside the rod guides (mounting
brackets) are a unique feature to Powerbrace lockrods. These bearings
assure a smooth, consistent feel when opening and closing doors while
eliminating galvanic corrosion commonly found in conventional mounting
systems.
Powerbrace Corporation manufactures products for the truck-trailer,
intermodal, specialty and truck body market segments. Powerbrace Corporation
has been a leading manufacturer of door securement systems for trailer
builders for over 30 years.
